|     * OBSCURA May 21st, 8PM: Magician and storyteller Christian Cagigal, weaves sleight of hand, dark fables and strange happenings into an evening of magic and mystery. OBSCURA is performed under the eye of a camera and projected large, above Cagigal, so you can't miss a thing. Christian, both creator and performer, has been performing his trademark blend of theatre, storytelling and magic as an Artist in Residence at EXIT Theatre in San Francisco, since 2006 and as an Artist in Residence with Beyond the Mountain in Montréal, Canada since 2012.

* DAVID ROTH LECTURE - on Friday - June 5, 2015 - 8:00pm: S.A.M. Parent Assembly #1 in NYC is thrilled to sponsor a lecture by David Roth. David Roth is considered to be one of the finest sleight-of-hand performers in history, and is world-renowned as the finest coin manipulator alive today. His peers describe him as a "living legend", and a performer with "amazing ability...a genius".

His remarkable and unique style of magic is performed in a very distinctive and intimate way - this is magic in its purest form. Sleight-of-hand, not on stage but directly before you.

David has performed the world over. He has made television appearances in South America, Europe, Japan, and of course the United States, where he has been seen on the David Letterman show, HBOs "Magical Moments", and other network appearances over the years.

Lauded by his peers, he has twice won the coveted Magician of the Year award at the Magic Castle, and their Creative Fellowship for Lifetime Achievement in Magic. He received the Medal of the Inner Magic Circle with Gold Star from the Magic Circle in England. He has been backstage magical consultant and assistant to Ricky Jay in "Ricky Jay On The Stem"; and has traveled extensively with Mr. Jay in the hit show, "Ricky Jay & His 52 Assistants";. His book Expert Coin Magic has become a standard text on the subject and is known to magicians all over the world.

He has honed his remarkable skills the way a concert pianist would, and he is continually developing new routines and adaptations of classical ones.

     *** Salute to Magic: Thursday, June 11, 2015; The 106th Annual SALUTE TO MAGIC will be presented at 7:30pm on Thursday, June 11, 2015 at The Players Theater at 115 MacDougal Street in New York City. The show will star Comedy magician John Graham and Illusionist Jason Bishop and honors Jerry Oppenheimer as Magician of the Year 2015.

The Salute to Magic is the worlds longest-running annual magic show, presented in New York since 1909 by the Society of American Magicians, Parent Assembly Number 1. The Salute has featured performances by many of the worlds greatest magicians, including Houdini, Dai Vernon, Cardini, Dunninger, Dante, and Adelaide Hermann. Today it continues to showcase innovative magicians who have made their mark on the world of magic.
